To use ARES to update your personal information online:Follow the steps below. View and Update Your Personal Information Online
- Go to http://www.ares.umd.edu .
- Sign in by clicking Login at the top of the left column.
NOTE: When logging in to ARES, you will be asked to enter your UM ID (social security number) and PIN (personal identification number). If you’ve never used a PIN at College Park, try your birth date in mmddyy format. If that doesn’t work, call the OIT Help Desk at (301)405-1500.
- After your Login is successful, click on Personal Services in the left column of the ARES home page.
- Click Update Personnel Information underneath Personal Services.
- Changing your information on the Update Human Resources Information pages is intuitive. Just click your way through the various pages and data fields, correcting what you want on each page.
Remember that you are changing your official University information, so please be careful to double-check your entries before leaving a page.
